Garage for Car enthusiasts

For anyone that loves Cars, they would love to have a space where they can park their vehicle and to be able to work on it, or even give it a little detailing from time to time. But unfortunately, garages have become more of a dumping ground for house hold items and the cars gets forced out onto the street.

We want to have a garage that functions in both senses…to store your belongings but also showcase your cars to your friends, to your neighbors and to yourself.

If you’re interested in making your garage better equipped to not only park your car, but even perform maintenance or detailing, here are some tips to get you started.

Making Space

This should go without saying, but you need to have quite a bit of space in the garage to store your car and have the maneuverability to work on it. While garages themselves can vary greatly in size, you should be able to make enough space for a single vehicle.

Our Monkey Bar Garage Shelves are excellent options for creating space. They use wall space to hang items that tend to be stacked on the floor. Garage Slatwall is an alternative option for car enthusiasts. It is great for storing small tools and implements on the wall so you can easily see and grab them when needed.

Cabinets / Tool box

While a lot of times we don’t recommend Cabinets as it takes up floor space, but aesthetically they look great and, many homeowners also enjoy being able to work on their vehicles from the comfort of their own homes. There’s something fulfilling about being able to spend a warm summer evening up to your elbows in grease in the garage. For those of us who have tools, know the importance of keeping them nicely organized and locked away… there’s nothing more annoying than looking all over for that single socket.

Adding a Protective Floor Coating

With the amount of wear, tear and spills auto repairs can cause, and also with all the salt a vehicle brings in a garage in winters, having a floor coating to protect the longevity of your garage floor is crucial.

There are a few options to go with depending on your use and preference

EPOXY / POLYASPARTIC FLOORING

Epoxy coatings are a great option for protecting your floor, this will completely seal your concrete floor making it dust free, and also give it a nice appearance. If you are looking to have something more unique and custom then you may want to go with a METALLIC EPOXY FLOOR. This is a process that will make your floor look like a slab of Marble… maybe you want to match your floor with the colour of your car’s, or have the logo of your car on the floor? This is something that will catch the eye’s of your whole neighbourhood !

FLOOR TILES

Flooring tiles are another great option, these are floating tiles that can be installed over your floor. Don’t know how long you will be living in the property? These can easily be removed and taken with you if need be, also the design capabilities are endless !

Lighting

One of the most essential things when working on a vehicle is Lighting. Investing in some bright LED lights in your garage will not only help you out when working but will change the appearance of your garage completely. We recommend our Hexagon LED lights that will make your garage brighter than daylight.

Miscellaneous essentials

Lastly, here are some things you’ll want to look into that are essential for home vehicle maintenance and appearance.

  • Air Compressor
  • Wet/Dry Vac
  • Floor Jack
  • Car Creeper/Roller
  • Battery Charger
  • Steam Cleaner (for cleaning upholstery)
  • Custom Neon sign

Second to the home, vehicles are typically the most expensive item that people own. Why not protect that investment and give it a place to be showcased instead of just stored?
